Roy Klein Education Fund Grants Available for Kent County Nonprofits

Nonprofits in Kent County are encouraged to apply for grants from the Roy Klein Education Fund.  

The fund is for projects or programs that support improvements to life in central Delaware through economic development initiatives and related career and occupational education in Kent County, including all of Smyrna and Milford. It is available to all 501(c)(3) organizations in Kent County or organizations that run programming that directly benefit the county.  

The application is available at delcf.org/grants and the deadline is July 15. The maximum award is $3,000.  

Roy Klein was born June 14, 1926, in Philadelphia, to the late Julius and Eleanor Aarons Klein. He was in the US Merchant Marines from 1944-1947. After his service for his country, he was employed by the Caloric Corporation in Philadelphia, manufacturers of appliances and gas ranges, until 1966 as the head of marketing. He received his bachelor’s degree in business from Temple University in 1950.  

Klein was committed to a number of causes in Kent County and, through this fund, his dedication to central Delaware can continue forever.
