Next Gen North to Award $16,100 in Grants

WHO: The Next Generation North (Next Gen North) is a philanthropic organization of young professionals in northern Delaware. The organization leverages the resources of the Delaware Community Foundation, but has its own structure, fundraising projects and grantmaking process. Through the charitable fund established in 2004, Next Gen North has awarded more than $325,000 in grants to support organizations addressing underlying social challenges faced by the most vulnerable Delawareans. This year, Next Gen North is focused on STEM education.

WHAT: Next Gen North will award the following grants to local nonprofits in our community at their annual Grants Ceremony cocktail reception:

• Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington (Nativity Prep): $2,500 for textbooks

• Barrel of Makers, Inc.: $3,600 for the Makers Series at Delaware libraries

• Delaware Children’s Museum (DCM): $5,000 for the Junior Engineers program

• Boys and Girls Club of Delaware: $5,000 for Beating Odds Studying Stem (BOSS) program
