Klein Grants Available for Kent County Economic Development and Education
Nonprofits providing economic development and education programs in Kent County are invited to apply for grants from the Roy Klein Education Fund.
The application is available at delcf.org/grants. The deadline is Aug. 2.
The fund supports economic development and education programs in Kent County, Del., and is available to all 501(c)(3) organizations in Kent County or organizations that run programming that directly benefit the county.
The maximum award is $3,000. Past grantees include Polytech Adult Education, the AMC Museum Foundation, Kent County Future Farmers of America, Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation, and others.
Roy Klein was born June 14, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Julius and Eleanor Aarons Klein. He was in the US Merchant Marines from 1944-1947. After his service for his country, he was employed by the Caloric Corporation in Philadelphia, manufacturers of appliances and gas ranges, until 1966 as the head of marketing. He received his bachelor’s degree in business from Temple University in 1950.
Klein was committed to a number of causes in Kent County and through this fund, his dedication to central Delaware can continue forever.
