Delaware Community Foundation Awards $269,365 in Capital Grants to 21 Delaware Nonprofits
2025 grant recipients include TeenSHARP, Historical Society of Delaware and Ingleside Homes
Wilmington, DE – January 22, 2025 – The Delaware Community Foundation (DCF) has awarded $269,365.19 in capital grants to 21 nonprofits across Delaware. These grants will support a variety of critical projects, including facility improvements, accessibility enhancements, and expansions that strengthen the ability of nonprofits to serve their communities efficiently and effectively.
DCF capital grants assist organizations in acquiring, constructing, renovating, or improving facilities to ensure long-term operational effectiveness. Supported projects are designed to have a lasting and positive impact on the populations served, enhancing the strong work of these nonprofits.
“An ideal capital grant does more than just renovate or repair—it enables organizations to elevate their services and make a greater impact,” said Stuart Comstock-Gay, DCF President and CEO. “These projects are a testament to the resilience and dedication of Delaware nonprofits in meeting community needs.”
Awards for 2025 include $15,000 to TeenSHARP, a learning community for Black, Latino, and low-income students, to purchase crucial technology upgrades for their academic advising platforms. This investment will allow TeenSHARP to scale their services and better recruit, engage, and advise students who might not otherwise have tools or support to access higher education.
“Last year, over 750 Delaware students registered for our weeklong virtual college prep bootcamp, and hundreds applied for our yearlong program. The demand for high-quality college advising is immense,” said Atnre Alleyne Co-Founder/CEO of TeenSHARP. “Thanks to the Delaware Community Foundation’s generous capital investment, we can now substantially upgrade our technology to expand our reach and support even more students—doing so with greater efficiency and impact.”
