Delaware Community Foundation Hosts June Reception in Wilmington
Last week, on June 4, 2025, the Delaware Community Foundation (DCF) hosted its annual reception in Wilmington at the Blue Ball Barn. Attended by grantees, scholarship recipients, staff, friends, and donors, the evening featured remarks from President and CEO, Stuart Comstock-Gay, as well as recognition of several milestone achievements:
- the Arsht-Cannon Fund, celebrating 20 years of serving the Hispanic community in Delaware;
- Rodel, marking 30 years of improving public education;
- the Fund for Women, celebrating 30 years of supporting women and girls;
- the Delaware State Parks Fund, marking 40 years of protecting Delaware’s natural resources; and
- the MERIT program, celebrating 50 years of fostering excellence in STEM among minority youth.
The event also highlighted the struggles of the nonprofit sector. Over the past six months, many Delaware nonprofits and the communities they serve have faced significant challenges. In response, the DCF has committed to supporting innovative solutions through its Meet the Moment grant program. With up to $425,000 available in its first round, the program is designed to help nonprofits navigate uncertainty and adapt to a changing environment. Grants may support a wide range of needs, including scenario planning, financial forecasting, exploring new revenue models, legal assistance for mergers, advocacy, storytelling, and more.
Friends of the DCF can attend the Southern Delaware reception on June 18. Contact Cassie DiSabatino at [email protected] for more information.
