Next Gen South Awards Grants to Friendship House and Philadelphia Arms
The Next Generation – Southern Delaware (Next Gen South) has awarded $10,000 in grants to organizations combating housing issues in Kent and Sussex counties.
At a grants ceremony Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the DCF offices in Georgetown, Next Gen South awarded $5,000 each to Friendship House and Philadelphia Arms.
Friendship House’s grant will be directed to the Kent County Empowerment Center to help families obtain state identification, birth certificates and necessary clothing for work or school.
Philadelphia Arms will use its grant for safety equipment, food, cleaning, and replacement flooring at the Griffin Place Project, a short-term rental property for individuals with disabilities, chronic illness and mental illness that provides resources and safe housing through addiction treatment/recovery.
