DCF Joins Over 40 Community Foundations for ‘Make More Possible’ Campaign

The Delaware Community Foundation (DCF) joins over 40 community foundations in a nationwide branding campaign called “Make More Possible” through the Community Foundation Awareness Initiative (CFAI). The goal of the national campaign is to educate potential donors about the impact they can have working with their local community foundation.

The DCF branch of this multimedia campaign will roll out in Delaware across print, digital, and social media platforms with a powerful message: “The Delaware Community Foundation Makes More Possible through the power of collective giving.” It aims to inspire community members to open donor advised funds to support the causes and nonprofits they care about most.

“Donors might not realize the unique nature of creating a donor advised fund at the community foundation,” says Stuart Comstock-Gay, President & CEO for the DCF. “While privately established gift funds and the DCF both offer donor advised funds, the DCF also brings deep knowledge of community needs through our ongoing partnerships with nonprofit organizations throughout Delaware. We are experienced stewards who can do more with donor advised funds.”

In working with community foundations such as the DCF, fundholders receive more individualized attention than they would with a larger investment group. They also gain access to customized services, including the option to establish grant applications for larger donor advised funds, allowing for hands-on involvement in their charitable efforts. With a low entry threshold and the flexibility to contribute various assets—such as cash, stocks, or other investments—the DCF makes it easy to combine smart financial planning with impactful giving.

“When you open a donor advised fund with the DCF, you join a vibrant and engaged community,” says Comstock-Gay. “We go beyond the numbers, connecting our fundholders with local nonprofit leaders and even sitting down over coffee to discuss their goals. While the tax benefits are a valuable aspect, what truly sets the DCF apart is our commitment to helping people maximize their impact and make a meaningful difference for their neighbors.”
