DoMore24 – a day to give more to DE nonprofits
It’s time to check your inbox, and make some extra contributions to the many nonprofit organizations making an extra push for your help. It’s DoMore24 time in Delaware. Starting at 6 pm on Thursday the 4th, for 24 hours, donations to Delaware nonprofits can go farther, and we can all express again how vital the state’s non-profits are to our lives.
Our lives are made more rich and more satisfying thanks to the state’s nonprofits. And the year of pandemic has proven that more than ever. Nonprofits stood up from day one – stretching their work and service – to help Delawareans hold on during this brutal year.
DoMore24 is Delaware’s giving day, and thanks to the leadership of Spur Impact and the United Way of Delaware, with partnership from dozens of other organizations and funders, non-profits are lining up to inspire more support.
Charlie Vincent of Spur Impact reports that close to 400 nonprofits have signed up. And there is more than $150,000 in the stretch pool, as well as hourly and incentive prizes. The DCF is a contributor to this pool – along with other foundations in the state – and we couldn’t be more pleased about the overall success of this project.
Plus, this year, the Delaware Division of Arts has committed another $425,000 in stretch and incentive prizes for arts nonprofits.
And, Delaware native and country music artist Jimmie Allen is involved, and will perform a VIP concert to help the event.
The growth of DoMore24 in the past two years has been fabulous – and a testament to the passion of Delawareans. If you haven’t given through DoMore24 in previous years, take a look this year. It matters to all of us.
